The objects we surround ourselves with, where we put them in our personal landscape, what we keep and what we discard, tell us as much about a person as their physical presence. My work makes visual this relationship between people and their surroundings. Often it is the view right in front of me, and my relationship to the faces, objects and spaces within my own landscape that occupies my mind.
Susie Rea (b. 1977) was brought up in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She read history at Cambridge University before studying fine art at Central Saint Martin's College of Art and Design. After living for almost a decade in London, she returned to Belfast in 2007 where she now lives and works.
